At Healing with Horses Zimbabwe, we serve vulnerable children navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, neurodiversity, and overwhelming life circumstances.
Many arrive guarded, anxious, or carrying more than a child should have to carry. In the quiet presence of a horse, something begins to shift. Without pressure, without needing the right words, children experience connection, regulation, and renewed confidence in a safe, relationship-based environment.
Each week, 150–180 children come through our gates — and most receive this support free of charge. For many who have experienced abuse, abandonment, or deep instability, access to specialised care is limited. Consistent sessions make all the difference. Trust builds slowly. Confidence grows over time. Continuity matters.
In Zimbabwe’s challenging economic climate, access is only possible because of community support.
This year, we are honoured to participate in the Horses for Mental Health Campaign — a global movement recognising the powerful role horses play in emotional wellbeing. Through this campaign, you have the opportunity to stand with children in Zimbabwe and ensure they continue receiving the care and connection they deserve.
Your generosity ensures children can attend consistently, form safe relationships, and build resilience that reaches far beyond the arena. It also supports the wellbeing of our therapy horses and the safe, sustainable environment that makes this work possible.
By giving, you are not simply funding a program — you are keeping the door open for a child who needs safety, connection, and hope.
Together, we keep access open.
