Being part of Healing with Horses Zimbabwe is something that is incredibly close to my heart. As both a Trustee and a BHSAI Instructor, I have the privilege of witnessing, first-hand, the quiet but powerful impact that our work has on so many individuals.
There is something truly special about the connection between horses and humans. At Healing with Horses, that connection creates a space where people feel safe, understood, and able to grow in ways that are often hard to put into words. I have seen confidence built from the ground up, anxiety softened, and joy rediscovered — all through time spent with these remarkable animals.
Our centre provides equine assisted services to children and adults from all walks of life, many of whom would not otherwise have access to this kind of support. Every session, every interaction, and every small breakthrough matters deeply — not just to the participants, but to their families and wider communities too.
This is why I am so passionate about raising funds through the Horses for Mental Health Campaign. The reality is that running a centre like ours comes with significant costs, and we rely heavily on the generosity of others to keep our doors open. These funds will go directly towards caring for our horses, maintaining our facilities, and ensuring that we can continue to offer this life-changing work to those who need it most.
