Urban Horse Project brings our special horses into the city to create welcoming, trauma-informed learning programs. At a time when so many urban youth are navigating stress, anxiety or disconnection, we work in partnership with schools and youth-serving agencies in Metro Vancouver to reach diverse youth. Time with horses offers something important, a steady presence, space to slow down, and room to try, reflect and grow.
As they spend time with our kind horses and our caring professional facilitators, participants build positive connections to nature, community and themselves, and discover their strengths. They tell us they love being with the horses and that they feel happy and calm in our programs. Many say that through the horses and our program curriculum, they are learning important things.
We are a small, community based organization committed to accessibility. Most youth participate at no cost to them or their families, made possible through the support of donors, partners and our wider community. We receive almost no government funding.
Your donation makes this possible. Donations support our inclusive free programs for youth, ethical horse care, and our ability to transport our horses right into the city to remove access barriers for urban youth.
Help make these life-changing experiences possible today.
