I became interested in this mission at a fund-raising event a few years ago, a father spoke openly about the impact Miracles in motion had on his son. He continued to focus on the positive development of his son’s social skills, concentration, and enhanced motivation. I was extremely impressed and as a health professional and nursing faculty member for over 55 years, this testimony was truly powerful and deeply resonated with me. It definitely aligned with my nursing practice and teaching experiences. The approach of therapeutic activity with horses, chooses to focus on enhancing the skills of all persons with which the therapy connects. At this time, it is very exciting and encouraging to see individuals grow and enhance specific skills they were not expected to develop. To me, this is the ideal volunteer opportunity for an individual who has the passion to communicate the impact of this organization and in addition, has spent over one-half of a century assisting in expanding knowledge and developing skills to enhance the health of individuals and their family functioning. I am fortunate to have this opportunity to represent, advance, and secure resources to support the activities of Miracles in Motion. Riding a horse was an experience i was able to have quite often as a young boy whenever we visited my uncle Art on his farm. My cousin and I got to ride around a lot! An experience i thoroughly enjoyed! And the experience also taught me about the responsibility one must develop to properly treat and care for a horse…I learned a lot back then. And loved it!
