VIRGINIA — Reinvention. Relocation. Renewal. 🔥🐴
After serving more than 3,300 participants from 2012–2025 in the great state of New Jersey – this year Spring Reins of Life is beginning a powerful new chapter in Central Virginia.
Following two unexpected shutdowns — first in 2020 and again in 2025 due to frozen funding — we were faced with closing our doors. Instead, a longtime supporter of SRoL’s Operation Horse (Veterans programming) invited us to join him and expand onto a beautiful farm … in Virginia.
On September 4, 2025, Syriana (15 years of service), Junior Mif (10 years), and our three Donkeys – Edith, Gloria and GusArchie made the 302-mile journey south to explore new pastures.
Miss Molly remains in New Jersey surrounded by a few close friends, and 2 veterans whom she is quite attached to. And She is currently featured in a documentary of her story by a filmmaker from Rutgers University — stay tuned!
🌿 Except Virginia is not ready for SRoL! Recently we learned that SRoL was registered incorrectly as a for profit in Virginia by a nonprofit law-firm. WHAT?!
For the foreseeable future Spring Reins of Life is unable to operate in Virginia as a 501c3 public charity. Which negates the reasons for us to relocate here. We are remaining in the Horses for Mental Health Campaign – only our goals have had to abruptly change. This year, we are fundraising specifically for legal fees to FIX this mess, and since we are registered as always in the great state of New Jersey – SRoL will be hosting a weekend Veterans Retreat at the end of the summer in NJ!
For Transparency Reasons – Breakdown of our 2026 HfMH Funding Goal:
$1,900 Legal fees to FIX the registry debacle for Spring Reins of Life
$3,500 Costs involved for a 2 1/2 day Operation Horse weekend retreat for Veterans in New Jersey. This will take place towards the end of the summer to allow us to plan, recruit, and travel. We will post on social media about this event to keep everyone updated.
Setbacks are not something any of us want to work through, yet with the history of our nonprofit this is something we have grown accustomed to. It just means that the road will divert, may wind out of the way a bit, yet by keeping our sights on the same results all-ways (helping humans with horses) we do believe in destination (destiny).
And fittingly, 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse. We have one — Syriana, our only remaining founding horse. Since we opened our gates to clients she has helped thousands reconnect with their truth. A redheaded strong-willed, dramatic, opinionated, forward moving thoroughbred mare! Who is highly sensitive, intuitive, honest, anxious and silly – we bask in the glow of your flame.🔥
One Response
Whenever involved in a fundraiser for Spring Reins of Life, as the cofounder have always made a donation. No matter how poor I am at the moment or how much personal sacrifice has been DONATED to SRoL. It is a heart based mission and I became addicted to witnessing miracles to where the dedication is beyond normal. It can become destructive. YET, If I cannot make a donation to my most important “cause” then its hard to ask others to do the same. Join me, match me, its the minimum, or even less. Thank you!!!!
