Robert Law (Robbie) retired from active duty with the Alabama Army National Guard in December 2022 after serving over twenty-seven years reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After serving as an enlisted Soldier up to the rank of Sergeant, LTC Law attending the Alabama Military Academy, Officer Candidate School graduating and commissioning as an Army Ordnance Officer. As his career continued, he served in Staff and command positions at every level of command within the state to include two tours in Afghanistan (2010 and 2018). He retired in December 2022. LTC Law has served on multiple mission teams to India and Brazil and serves in various positions at his church to include the Recovery Alive Ministry. As his journey after service met some struggles, he found his way to Samson’s Strength Sustainable Veteran’s Project farm where he was able to serve others and volunteer while also working on his own recovery. Since leaving the farm, he continues to serve on the board of SSSVP where he seeks to help other Veterans with similar struggles. He serves at Recovery Alive at Shoal Creek Baptist Church (a Christ Centered 12 step ministry and attends other local recovery programs. He has two daughters (Madison and Megan) and two granddaughters (Calloway and Elliott) who all have him wrapped around their little fingers.
Robbie has a lifelong love for horses and animals! Growing up he had a “CRAZY” Shetland pony… and from the age of 17-37 he worked with a Veterinarian- first 7 years part time and then the last 13 years full time. He brings years of experience and passion for the healing powers of horses- Mustangs- for Veterans! Robbie and his daughter Meg are the creative inspiration behind a book featuring the horses of Samson’s Strength and a coloring book about Shimmer and Shine- 2 BLM Burros at SSSVP!
Robbie is launching a non profit- Mustangs Warriors Recovery- (MWR)- a equine experience utilizing Christ centered 12 steps for Veterans, Law Enforcement, First Responders and others in recovery!
Robbie is an ambassador during the 2026 Horses for Mental Health campaign for Samson’s Strength Sustainable Veterans Project.
