I’m raising money for Equellness because I have personally felt the healing power of this herd.
As a breathwork coach, I deeply understand how important it is to feel safe in our bodies and regulate our nervous systems, especially in these intense, overwhelming times. So many people are carrying stress, grief, trauma, and anxiety, and sometimes words alone are not enough. That is where horses can offer something truly special.
Horses have a remarkable ability to help us slow down, soften, and come back into the present moment. With their powerful presence and big, steady hearts, they can support heart coherence, a state where the heart, breath, and nervous system begin to settle and work together. Just being near them can help us feel more grounded, connected, and at peace.
I experienced this firsthand at Equellness volunteering during a retreat for adults in recovery. I was holding Sven, one of the horses in the herd, when he gently laid his big head on my chest, right over my heart, and stayed there for several minutes. It touched me so deeply. In those few quiet moments, I felt like I received as much healing as anyone participating in the retreat.
That experience reminded me that healing does not always have to be complicated. Sometimes it comes through presence, connection, breath, and the quiet wisdom of an animal who knows how to meet us exactly where we are.
I’m honored to support Equellness and help make this healing work available to more people who need it. Thank you for joining me in supporting this beautiful organization.
