Michael Sanchez is a dedicated horse trainer based in Leeds, Alabama, specializing in working with Mustang horses and helping them transition from the wild into confident, trusting partners.
Growing up around horses, Michael developed a deep respect for their intelligence and spirit early in life. However, it wasn’t until about six years ago that he stepped fully into the world of training—committing himself to understanding not just how horses behave, but how they think and communicate.
His approach is rooted in natural horsemanship, emphasizing patience, trust, and clear communication over force. Michael believes that every mustang deserves a chance at a successful domesticated life, and he takes pride in guiding each horse through that transformation at its own pace.
Driven by a genuine passion for improvement, Michael is constantly studying new methods and refining his skills. Whether he’s working with a newly gathered mustang or continuing the education of a gentled horse, his goal remains the same: to build a partnership based on mutual respect and understanding.
For Michael, training is more than a profession—it’s a lifelong pursuit of better communication, deeper connection, and giving every horse the opportunity to thrive.
Michael is an Ambassador during the 2026 Horses for Mental Health campaign for Samson’s Strength Sustainable Veterans Project and will be a featured trainer at the May 2 2026- Mustang Clinic at Blue Sky Farms in Leeds.
