“They tried to bury us, but they didn’t know we were seeds.”
This quote has stuck with me for most of my adult life. If you’ve ever met me, you know I’m always up for a challenge—and if you tell me I can’t do something, you can bet I’m going to find a way to prove you wrong.
Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—ever since I was old enough to ask about them. In the early 2000’s after years of riding lessons and months of trying different horses without finding that “click,” I finally met her—a sassy four-year-old Quarter Horse mare who perfectly matched my equally sassy 12-year-old self. She may be retired from being my mountain horse, but she’s loving her Equine Assisted Learning life!
Fast forward to 2023. That was the year CX Solid was just an idea… and also the year I unexpectedly lost my mom.
Some people are fortunate enough not to understand that kind of loss. Others know it all too well. When a piece of your world is suddenly gone, there are days when you can’t tell left from right, up from down. And in those moments, something as simple as “come out and spend time with the horses” can be just enough direction to get through the day.
That summer, I was constantly reminded just how therapeutic horses are—for both mental and physical health. As CX Solid began to take shape, I couldn’t help but think: if horses could help me through one of the hardest times in my life, how much more could they help first responders, who face trauma every single day throughout their careers?
That’s why this cause matters so much to me.
Through CX Solid Foundation, we are working to support first responders—people who show up for others on their worst days, over and over again. The weight of that responsibility and repeated exposure to trauma is something most of us will never fully understand, but it takes a real toll.
Horses for Mental Health is a campaign that offers a different kind of support—one that goes beyond traditional approaches. They are a platform that is helping support CX Solid! Time spent with horses encourages presence, trust, emotional awareness, and connection in a way that’s hard to replicate anywhere else. It creates space for people to process what they carry, without pressure or judgment.
If something as simple as being around horses could help ground me and get me through my hardest days, I truly believe it can make an even bigger impact for those facing trauma daily.
That’s why I’m raising donations—to help make these programs more accessible, to support the mental health of those who give so much of themselves, and to be part of something that can genuinely change lives.
Every bit of support—whether it’s a donation, sharing this message, or simply raising awareness—means more than you know.
