We are especially interested in continuing to expand our work to include veterans at little to no cost for them. Funds raised through this campaign will be used exclusively for our fledgling Veterans Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy program.
The mission of Black Horse Spirit is to partner with horses to assist humans in their quest to live fulfilling and purposeful lives. In developing a relationship with a horse under the guidance of a qualified professional, clients can get unstuck, realize deep insights, make necessary changes, and move forward with their life goals. The vision of Black Horse Spirit is to preserve the dignity of every being, human and non-human, while providing the highest standard of care in prevention education, treatment, rehabilitation, and counseling/psychotherapy, which will result in an improved quality of life for all. We provide trauma-focused equine-assisted psychotherapy. Services include individual sessions, couple sessions, and therapy intensives. These are provided for all genders and all backgrounds of teen, adult, and elder in the greater Syracuse area without prejudice. Our current clients are often people dealing with PTSD and c-PTSD, mild traumatic brain injury, and/or relationship difficulties caused by developmental trauma. We specialize in clients who may not thrive in a conventional psychotherapy setting. We also provide nature-based counseling and walk-&-talk sessions.
