Why I’m Raising Funds

We believe accessibility should extend into every part of life, including into nature. At Access Adventure, that belief guides our work every day.

We are a 501c3 nonprofit committed to making transformative outdoor experiences accessible and inclusive for everyone. Working together with specially trained horses and adaptive equipment, we help provide recreational, educational, and therapeutic experiences for people with disabilities and to other underserved communities. Our innovative activities at Access Adventure include teaching job and life skills to neurodiverse students and creating memorable experiences in nature through accessible carriage rides.

We believe that connecting with nature can be deeply healing, and through our partnership with Crescent Moon Center we expand upon the ways in which we help people heal. Access Adventure played a key role in bringing Crescent Moon Center to Rush Ranch; we co-create programs, inspire each other in our work, train volunteer horse handlers and the horses who are our teachers and partners in equine-assisted learning workshops. Together, our collaboration offers a holistic, experiential approach to supporting mental health. We encourage participants to explore their challenges from new perspectives, build confidence and emotional awareness, while also connecting with themselves and community.

Access Adventure is raising funds to expand access to our collaborative programs, sustain equine-assisted learning workshops, care for our horses, and train horse handlers and facilitators. Your support will ensure that more people, regardless of ability or circumstance, can access these life-changing experiences.

By supporting this campaign, you are helping grow a model of care which combines accessibility with mental health support. Together we bring more people into nature, build community, and create a path for healing. Our use of Rush Ranch is provided through the generosity of Solano Land Trust which owns, maintains, and sustains the land.

It’s hard to imagine our equine-assisted learning program without the support of Solano Land Trust, Mike Muir and Access Adventure and their volunteers. They are the wind beneath our wings.
