Dearest Friends, Family and Colleagues –
I knew the very first time I volunteered at Therapeutic Horses of Saratoga that this was my retirement calling. I was drawn to the serenity and peacefulness at the farm as well as their mission – helping horses-healing humans. There is a sudden calmness and tranquility of the mind and body when face to face with these majestic animals.
Horses are intelligent, perceptive, and honest; they are passionate and affectionate and they have an uncanny ability to sense emotions and feelings.
At THS, the horses become companions for people who are struggling or have challenges; veterans, service members, people who have experienced trauma, developmentally delayed children and adults, children and adults on the autism spectrum, at risk youths. When interacting with the horses, these individuals can let down their guard and just be themselves without being judged and without expecting anything in return. This dynamic connection between humans and horses is truly uplifting and magical.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Thanks to all of my friends, family, and colleagues who opened up their hearts so generously, I raised close to $4000 last year. It was eye opening to know that so many of you supported this impactful campaign and supported me in something I feel so passionate about.
I hope you join me once again in supporting this amazing cause. Every little bit helps!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
