My heart has always been with those who serve others.
My son is a nurse. I’ve seen firsthand the weight that first responders and frontline workers carry—the long hours, the emotional toll, and the quiet strength it takes to keep showing up. It’s a calling, but it’s not an easy one.
I’ve also walked through deep personal loss. My husband, John, passed after a battle with dementia. Dementia didn’t just take his memory—it slowly took pieces of the man we knew and loved. Watching that unfold changes you. It opens your eyes to how fragile mental wellness can be, and how important it is to support it while we still can.
John believed strongly in the healing power of animals. That belief stayed with me. Even when dementia took so much from him, I held onto the idea that connection—especially through animals—can reach places that words sometimes cannot.
I’ve also been passionate about supporting vulnerable populations, including children through initiatives like Little Warriors, helping those impacted by sexual abuse find support and healing.
So when I learned about CX Solid Foundation, it just made sense.
Their mission—providing proactive, non-clinical mental wellness support for first responders through equine-assisted learning—is something I truly believe in. Horses have a way of grounding us, helping us regulate, reconnect, and feel safe without judgment. That matters, especially for those who spend their lives taking care of everyone else.
I’m raising funds because I want to be part of making sure these supports are there—before the breaking point, before the burnout, before the silence sets in.
Because those who serve us deserve to be supported too.yMy h
