The Susanna Farms Foundation seeks to serve the physical, mental, spiritual, and intellectual needs of our clients and communities through equine-assisted activities and somatic practices that enhance their overall well-being. We are raising funds for our mental health programing on the farm including our Growing Resilient Teens, Mentoring, and wellness programs which help individuals from a wide area gain positive skills for dealing with a chaotic world. We partner with mental health providers as well as local schools and social service agencies to ensure these programs are guided by certified mental health therapists along with our equine specialists, staff and volunteers. Our Growing Resilient Teens program is in it’s 4th year in partnership with CYN Counseling and middle schools from Waukegan Il. This program bring 12 students to the farm for 6-8 weeks spring and fall to work with the horses, animals and therapists to learn health physical and mental health habits. They love coming to the farm and we look forward to raising more funds to expand this program for the fall if possible, to more than one school. Our adult wellness program brings people of all ages to the farm to gain coping skills for stress, anxiety and more by working with the horses and then connecting in a group setting with a therapist to learn strategies to utilize beyond the farm.
In all we do on the farm, we strive to meet each horse and human where they are and to allow them to grow and stretch to the full potential. We invite you to support our programs so we can expand them to help more of our community.

I am so proud of the work that Laura and her team are doing to improve the lives of Lake County residents.
There are no words for how important horses have been to me in my life. I’m honored to share these amazing healers with my community and hope you will join me in supporting this awesome work.
