Our primary program is designed specifically for active duty military members, retired, disabled, prior-service veterans, and first responders who are seeking alternatives to traditional talk therapy.
All sessions are ground-based and non-riding, allowing veterans to engage with the horses safely, build trust, and explore emotions and experiences through hands-on interaction. This approach is particularly effective for individuals recovering from trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and transition-related stress.
We specialize in serving active duty military members, veterans, and first responders, three groups that routinely experience high levels of occupational stress, trauma exposure, and emotional fatigue. Our services are delivered through a partnership between an EAGALA-Certified Equine Specialist (Desert Sky Equine Connection) and a licensed mental health therapist (S&S Counseling), ensuring that all clinical care is provided by credentialed professionals.
Sessions are offered in both individual and group formats and are conducted through hands-on, ground-based activities with horses (no riding). The program is intentionally designed to feel safe, welcoming, and peer-supported, offering an alternative to traditional talk therapy that many veterans and first responders find more approachable and effective.
