Support Our Organization

We nurture a relationship with Tarpan horses and foster life skills development in our communities.

Join us in May, Mental Health Awareness Month when we launch our theme See the Able: Tarpan Connections!  We will partner Tarpan horses with seniors, intellectually disabled, and participants recovering from trauma to highlight their abilities and develop both horse and human personalities.

We create Tarpan connections in our community through ground activities, art, music and film explorations, and field trips. Ground activities with Tarpan horses convey essential concepts about horse and human rights, safety and caretaking, herd behavior, building a relationship, and leading by “feel” or example rather than force.

Concepts learned when connecting with horses transmit to daily life.

Support us in creating opportunities for participants to experience how connecting with a horse can help them stand up to life’s challenges.

At Walnut Grove, Tarpan Horse Conservation Program partners with the Arc of Augusta.  The HALT Foundation  has graciously contributed  $400 to our activities!

  1. In honor of Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Neptune, and in memory of Saturn.

  2. The tarpan breed pairs perfectly with programs such as HMH. They can be patient and kind but have very definite personalities that require patience and kindness in return.
