We are raising money to bring much needed assistance to a demographic in dire need right now: Young Adults 18-29 suffering from Loneliness and Social Isolation. A number of reports reveal a substantial increase in reported loneliness and isolation from our young adult population. It is no surprise, as their most formative young adult launch years were overshadowed by the COVID-19 Pandemic. At an age anyone is expected to “fly from the nest” and launch into the “real world,” forming key social relationships, both personal and professional, this current age group had a vastly different experience that has spiraled into alarming numbers with anxiety, having no friends, unsure how to connect with others, leading to growing amounts of time spent alone, and regressed social skills. Prolonged loneliness can lead to disease and ideations of suicide.
Therefore, our Helping Hooves community program is raising money to support our community’s Young Adults, helping them reconnect with their strengths, boost confidence, learn critical interpersonal communication skills, boundaries, accountability, and much more. Our program provides 6 Young Adults a 10 week cohort to work together with horses and experience the amazing gifts only horses can provide.
