One Heart Wild is the only behavioral health agency in our region specializing in equine and animal-assisted therapy. Demand for this work is constant—reflected in our ongoing waitlist.
And while the healing power of horses is profound, the cost of their care is significant. More than 35% of the clients we serve use Medicaid, and another 10% need financial support to access services. Program income alone can’t fully cover the animal-based overhead that makes this modality possible.
