I only became aware of equine therapy and equine-assisted learning a few years ago. I became involved because of the needs of someone I cared about, who had spent decades with different variations of talk therapy. There had become a point where talk therapy was no longer working and was no longer affordable. Since she began working with, and then for, the Equellness Center, I have witnessed connection and transformation and healing, beyond my wildest hopes and expectations. She is not alone. I’m helping raise awareness and funds for Horses for Mental Health, an umbrella, member association through which all pledged funds for the Equellness Center go directly to the Equellness Center, to assist those in need in our community.
