Marie-Pierre Godin is a bilingual clinical social worker, entrepreneur, and community leader based in New Brunswick, Canada. As co-founder of Mind at Peace Centre Mieux-Être, a rapidly growing multidisciplinary network of wellness clinics, she has dedicated her career to increasing access to innovative, trauma-informed mental health services across underserved and rural communities.
With over a decade of experience in the field, Marie-Pierre works with children, youth, adults, couples, and families navigating trauma, emotional challenges, and life transitions. Her approach is grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection—connection to self, to others, and to the environment.
Driven by a vision to make mental health care more accessible and impactful, Marie-Pierre specialized in equine-psychotherapy, an initiative focused on equine-assisted psychotherapy and trauma. Through this work, she integrates experiential, relational approaches that allow clients—especially those who struggle with traditional talk therapy—to engage in meaningful and transformative healing experiences alongside horses.
Her work is deeply influenced by principles of trauma-informed care, relational practice, and a commitment to culturally responsive approaches, including the integration of Two-Eyed Seeing, which honors both Indigenous and Western ways of knowing. She is passionate about creating spaces where individuals feel safe, seen, and empowered to reconnect with themselves in authentic ways.
Marie-Pierre is also the co-founder of EL2ES, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing violence and promoting healthy relationships through education, leadership, and community engagement. Through her leadership, she continues to bridge clinical expertise with grassroots impact, advocating for prevention, accessibility, and innovation in mental health care.
As an ambassador for Horses for Mental Health, Marie-Pierre is committed to expanding awareness of equine-assisted services and increasing access to care. She is currently leading efforts to develop year-round programming by building an indoor equine therapy space, ensuring that individuals can benefit from these services regardless of weather, season, or barriers.
Through her work, Marie-Pierre embodies a powerful vision:
that healing can be experiential, relational, and accessible—and that sometimes, the most meaningful breakthroughs happen not in an office, but in the presence of a horse.
