Ride for Joy is the single most outstanding thing my adult autistic son participates in. He has a special bond with horses that he does not have with any other animal. He has participated in Ride for Joy for over 10 years, during which time we have seen his continued enthusiasm and interest in participating in the lessons. Those ten years have also witnessed remarkable growth, especially in the dramatic reduction of his self-aggression and the need to wear protective equipment. Other activities, such as skiing or bike riding, have fallen by the wayside in the last ten years, but Ride for Joy remains a cornerstone of his life. I encourage you to help support this organization not only for my son, but also for all of the other participants that derive so much joy and healing from the horses and from the instructions of the teachers and volunteers.
