Connected Growth & Wellness began its Mid-Michigan equine assisted psychotherapy work at Dowd Equestrian in Okemos, and continues to collaborate after a strategic relocation to Mason.
The Mason facility features beautiful grassy fields, a massive outdoor arena, adorable ponies and sweet, steady horses. Taylor Dowd-Kerr, farm owner and USHJA certified trainer, brings a high level of knowledge and a horse-first approach. We are so fortunate to be able to use this peaceful, private site.
Our Dowd site offers incredible confidentiality for workshops on sensitive topics like disordered eating, confidence issues or families in turmoil. Outside of workshop times, you’ll find the property being used for other wonderful community purposes like an Interscholastic Equestrian Team, starting young horses, running a highly reputable lesson program, and planning their hosting of Hunter/Jumper horse shows in partnership with another local farm.
