The Animals for Life Project provided by Equine Alliance enables access to equine assisted therapy services to vulnerable people living in Southeast Queensland. Equine Alliance is one of Australia’s founding Equine Therapy services – having helped thousands of people and animals since 2004.
In 2021, Equine Alliance established a charitable partnership with Rotary Australia Benevolent Society to fundraise to deliver services to vulnerable people who wouldn’t otherwise have access to support. All participants that we service through this project experience significant barriers to accessing help – for example, financial hardship, complexity of mental health condition or fear and difficulty of accessing mainstream supports.
The Animals for Life project has improved the lives of over 600 vulnerable young people and veterans – and is evidenced to improve attachment to school, overall wellbeing and mental health outcomes. The demand for services continues to grow – outstripping current funding models.
