💙 Why We Are Raising Funds for Belle

Bay Meadow Farm has been selected to participate in the Horses for Mental Health Fiscal Sponsorship and Mental Health Campaign this May, which recognizes programs that provide innovative, trauma-informed mental health services through equine-assisted counseling. We are deeply honored by this opportunity and excited to expand access to mental health care in our community.

We currently have an urgent need to raise funds for our beloved therapy pony, Belle, who has been diagnosed with Equine Odontoclastic Tooth Resorption and Hypercementosis (EORTH). This painful dental condition requires surgical treatment, and our veterinarian has recommended that Belle receive specialized care from a board-certified veterinary surgeon in Princeton, New Jersey.

Belle is an invaluable member of our equine-assisted mental health counseling program. She is known for her exceptional disposition, gentle and calming presence, and approachable, steady demeanor that helps clients feel safe and regulated. Belle is often our “go-to” therapy pony for children, trauma survivors, and individuals who may feel anxious around larger horses. Her intuitive and patient nature makes her a cornerstone of our therapeutic work.

Our goal is to raise $4,000 by March 15 so that Belle’s surgery can be scheduled as soon as possible. Prompt treatment will relieve her discomfort and allow her to continue participating safely and ethically in therapeutic sessions.
