I’m supporting Horses for Mental Health and Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue, registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, because I know, from firsthand experience, that horses create rare opportunities for humans to slow down, see repeating patterns, develop day-to-day skills, and ultimately improve their relationship with themselves and others.
I’m especially passionate about supporting organizations that not only expand access to mental health and wellbeing resources for humans, but also deeply prioritize the welfare, dignity, and care of the equine partners who make this work possible. Lucky Orphans supports over 40 retired Thoroughbreds and seniors who cannot be ridden or re-homed. Support and ongoing protection for them means lifelong care.
For a point of reference, it costs $1,733 every single day to operate the Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue farm, more than $52,000 this month alone, to provide:
- Hay, grain, and specialized senior nutrition
- Veterinary, dental, and farrier care
- Safe fencing, shelter, and utilities
- Professional, trauma-informed programming
- Lifelong sanctuary for 42 rescued horses
This campaign helps support both people and horses and every contribution, regardless of size, helps sustain programs, rescue efforts, education, and experiences that can have a lasting impact.
If this resonates with you, I’d be grateful for your support through donation or for simply sharing the campaign with others. Every dollar and share counts.
Thank you for your consideration and chosen form of support!

Thank you Lucky Orphans for all that you do! I loved getting to tour your space and meet some of your horses through Natalie and Here with the Herd.
