For 16 years, I’ve stood in our paddocks and watched the impossible become possible. I’ve seen a veteran, carrying the weight of the world, finally exhale as a horse rests its head on their shoulder. I’ve seen children who have stopped speaking find their voice again through a connection with our herd. Lucky Orphans is more than a sanctuary; for many youth and families in our community, it is a lifeline. In my time at LOHR, I’ve learned that horses have a unique way of reaching the parts of the human heart that traditional therapy sometimes can’t.
But healing requires stability. Managing our grants for over a decade has shown me that these life-changing moments are fragile and how much the ‘ups and downs’ of funding can threaten the very programs our community rely on . They depend on a ‘herd’ of supporters who believe, as I do, that no one should have to navigate their darkest moments alone.
I’m raising money to ensure the gates stay open and the healing never stops. I know that every dollar translates into a moment of peace for a family in pain. This month, I’m asking you to help us provide a safety net for those who need it most. Your gift isn’t just a donation; it’s a heartbeat of hope for someone rediscovering their strength.
