I’m proud to be part of the Horses for Mental Health campaign this year, and I’m teaming up with Gypsy, one of our miniature therapy horses and a play therapy specialist (who also loves helping adults!).
Gypsy is confident, gentle, and nurturing, especially with little ones, and always helps them feel calm and cared for just by being who she is. She also works with teens and adults, helping them feel calm, safe, and cared for.
At STEPS with Horses, our work is built around these kinds of interactions. Through equine-assisted counseling, horses like Gypsy help people navigate stress, trauma, and life challenges in ways that are experiential, honest, and deeply impactful. Gypsy does the work every day, but she can’t explain it—so I’m doing my best to share what makes her so important.
Your support goes directly toward the care of horses like Gypsy and helps ensure that clients can continue to access these services. It also helps us grow sustainably so we can reach more people who need this work.
If you feel connected to Gypsy or the work we’re doing, I’d love for you to be part of it.
Together, we can continue creating space for healing, connection, and growth—for both people and the horses who make it possible.
