Hi! My name is Aubree 🙂 I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Founder of HRH which was created during Covid. I had a vision to create a safe space outdoors where people could come be in nature and be with horses to find comfort, healing, community and HOPE.
I firmly believe that access to mental health care is critical now, more than ever before as Mental Health issues have become the #1 Cause of death in the US. There are more barriers to care than we have ever seen before as well. When I founded HRH 6 years ago, the mission was simple-Make access to Equine Assisted Psychotherapy accessible to as many people in the community as possible. The target population has been those who are underserved, underinsured or uninsured. We seek to support high risk, low income populations and those seeking reprieve from distressing symptoms.
It is not possible to run the Non-Profit on one funding source which is why donations become so invaluable to keeping our operation up and running. The miracles I have personally and professionally witnessed when people show up and share space with horses in a therapeutic way is undeniable. It is life changing and life saving. One of our horses, Dakota touched someones life so deeply they are naming their baby boy after her and in honor of her. I think this example truly shows how impactful this work can be for those ready and willing to take action.
We partner with 4 amazing Mustang rescues who all have a story to tell. They bring so much wisdom and healing to the table just by being them. Its truly incredible to sit in their energy while doing your own personal healing work. We also utilize a few horses on the property we operate out of~Reinmakers Equestrian Park and are super grateful to them.
We currently run a women’s trauma support group, a teen community support group and two substance abuse recovery groups at this time. We teach emotional regulation, grounding, learning to be present, self care, communication and other life skills while also teaching some horsemanship. We deeply value providing an inclusive safe space for everyone that we serve.
There are many costs associated with running this non profit and we can’t do it alone. Please consider donating in May for Mental Health Awareness month. Please know you are absolutely helping to change lives of the people right here in your own community of Southern Utah. We are a 501c3 and all donations are tax deductible. EIN 86-3106646
