I’m raising funds for Strides for Success because equine therapy changed my life and the lives of my girls during one of our hardest seasons—during and after our adoption journey.
Adoption is rooted in love, but it also carries loss, trauma, uncertainty, and overwhelming emotions—for children and parents alike. There were moments when our home felt like constant chaos, when words failed us, and when calm seemed impossible to reach.
The horses gave us something we desperately needed: peace and a safe space.
In the presence of the horses, my girls didn’t have to explain how they felt. They were met with quiet understanding, patience, and unconditional acceptance. The horses responded to their emotions, teaching them — and me — how to slow down, breathe, and regulate ourselves when everything felt out of control.
Through equine therapy, we learned how to create calm within chaos. We learned trust, boundaries, emotional awareness, and connection — not through pressure or expectations, but through gentle guidance and presence. The lessons we learned in the barn followed us home and into our everyday lives.
Strides for Success doesn’t just offer therapy — they offer healing. They provide a place where families like mine can rebuild trust, find peace, and grow stronger together.
By raising money, I hope to help ensure that other families walking difficult journeys can experience the same hope, healing, and calm that saved us when we needed it most.
